Description:
Proprietors Earls of Leitrim and Charlemont. Agent Mr. James Fair of Fairhill, Parish of Ross, County of Galway. Rent from 16s. to 21 shillings per acre. No leases. Farms from 4 to 14 to 28 acres. Soil not good having some swamps. Produces middling crops of potatoes and flax, but very poor oats and wheat. Co. Cess 11 ½ d. paid per acre half yearly. No antiquities. Name of island seen on Lough Corrib viz. Booyawore, Sheegaun or Illaunachnappa or Button Island, Boya-veg, Incheeyivell, Innishdaweemore, Innishdauiveebeg and Illaunribbeen, Rueillaun.
Situation:
In the South side of the Parish. Bounded on the North by the townlands of Ballymaglancy and Carrowheekeen: in the West by Dooroy: on the South by Lough Corrib: and on the East by Ardaun East. In the Barony of Ross and County of Galway.
