There is about 1/3 of this parish under arable and pasture the other part is under a deep peat bog. The leading road to [unable to read] from the town of Ahascragh to Ballyforan and through nearly the centre of the parish [unable to read] [unable to read] at present in very good repair. There is but one Demesne in this parish. Schools nearly in the centre of it. That part which is under arable and pasture is of a good quality. It is [unable to read] not [unable to read]. It contains including water 513a. 2r.9p.
Is situated in the Barony of Killian on Eastern part of the County Galway bounded on the South and West by the parish of Ahascragh, on the North and West by the parish of Killeroran. Both in this Barony and County, and on the East and South S. East by the River Suck which separates it from the parish of Taughboy and Dysert in the Barony of Athlone and County Roscommon.
